More About Dani

I grew up in Long Island, NY, and moved to NYC in my early 20s, where I completed a B.S. at CUNY Hunter in nutrition and food science. During my college years, I obtained my first 200-hour yoga certification and began teaching yoga full-time across every borough of NYC. As more pregnant individuals started attending my classes, I pursued an extensive prenatal yoga training that deeply influenced my journey into birth work.

Shortly after, I took my first birth doula training with Debra Poscali-Bonaro of Orgasmic Birth and attended my first birth—a home birth in a tiny Manhattan apartment with four little dogs yapping the whole time (you never forget your first birth!). My experience attending births across NYC, including in various hospitals and birth centers, allowed me to work with all types of clients, eventually specializing in high-risk pregnancies.

My passion for supporting families grew as I took postpartum doula training, also with Debra Poscali-Bonaro, and became a certified lactation counselor (CLC). I’ve since helped countless families navigate their breastfeeding journeys. After attending dozens of births, I made the move to Ithaca, NY, where I now reside and work as a doula and prenatal/postnatal yoga instructor.

When I’m not supporting families, I’m spending time with my 3-year-old son Micah, hiking around this beautiful town, foraging wild food, and cooking or baking.
